Mission

The following academic objectives define the Ohr Hameir educational program: • To master the Talmudic dialectic, deductive reasoning and depth of perception which marks the distinguished Talmudic scholar. • To promote advanced scholarship in the areas of Talmud, Jewish Law and cognate studies. • To be familiar with the classical sources of Jewish philosophy based on sources in the Bible, Talmudic literature and rabbinical writings, and promotion of the study of Mussar, the unique discipline of ethics made famous by Rabbi Yisroel Salanter in the nineteenth century.
